Back from my very relaxing honeymoon in Galway. Thanks mum and dad :D . Stayed in the Radisson SAS Hotel in Galway and it was incredible. Had an amazing facial and massage courtesy of my new hubby. Very nice 2 days and the hotel was amazing, definitely worth it. But now we are planning out second Honeymoon in October thanks to Nigels very nice uncle who gave us a €1000 travel voucher for anywhere in the world. So cannot wait for that :D

The wedding wasn’t without it’s flaws but at the end of the day we got married and all the guests had a good time. Still not hit me that we are married yet. People have asked me do I feel married yet? If someone can explain to me how you feel married then please feel free to do so cause I don’t feel any different as of yet.

Oh and Happy St Patricks Day. Today is really the day to be Irish and as a purebred Irish girl I say bring on the holiday. Took Nigel to his first ever parade today. He was like a big child bless him. Have to admit the parade was very good this year and we had great weather for it. Secretly enjoyed it myself.

Anyway not much happening apart from that. My anti-natal classes start on Thursday and umm……….. yeah that’s it.

So thanks for listening to my ramblings.

I’m Back and I’m Not Happy!!! March 9, 2009

So I must apologize for being away for so long. I have been distracted by my wedding and baby plans and what not.  My wedding is this Thursday and no that’s not why I am annoyed in fact I am quite relaxed about it, it’s the Hen Party that has me annoyed. I had been planning this Hen Party for the better part of a month. Got a load of food and drink, organised an Anne Summers Party, organised a karaoke machine, dvd’s, the works. Now I have to mention my mum who was amazing and did a great job in helping with everything in fact I should give her all the credit.

But as for my friends well I have two simple words ” you suck “. My college friends were invited about a month ago. On Friday I of course did the double checking. 2 had forgotten and had made arrangements to go home that they couldn’t get out of. The other 2 did have a better excuse. They are in the drama society and have a play on Tuesday. They said that they had set building to do this weekend. So I pointed out the fact that they could set build all day get the 19:35 train and be here for 20:20. Then get  an early train home and then set build all day Sunday. They agreed that this was a good idea. So come 20:30 I’m wondering where they are and give them a text. They were still at college and had forgotten to get the last train. One of my best friends, I knew was unsure whether she could come due to college work. But she has deferred the year so that was no longer a problem. So me like a fool thought she would be attending. But she had a date so silly me. As for my lovely family members who didn’t turn up well I expected as much.

So you are probably thinking well it’s not that bad, some people turned up. Yes they did but a lot left too. 2 girls who were supposed to sleep over called their parents, who live over a half hour away, at midnight to come pick them up. So that definitely dampened my spirits. Another friend drank herself silly in 2hrs and then left. Another 3 had to leave early too because another girl got very very drunk and they had to get her home. So I am not mad at them all in fact I told those other two to get her home, didn’t want to be cleaning up puck. But this is going to sound quite greedy I guess but there was a surprising lack of presents.

My mum was amazing I’d say there was about €200 worth of presents for me and the baby as I decided to combine my baby shower and hen night. My mother-in-law who never came might I add never sent any presents for me or her grandson. Can’t say I was surprised though, they not the generous type. One of my best friends from childhood came bearing……nothing. Then later on in the night told me she didn’t really approve of me having the baby so that was an awkward moment. Another good friend brought drink for herself and that was all. Now she works in a store which sells some lovely baby things and she would have got a discount and still she only brings drink. The two girls who left early didn’t bring anything either. Now I don’t think I am a materialistic person but I was expecting a little something especially considering all of these friends are calling themselves auntie this and auntie that. One woman who I use to babysit for and is very good friends with my mum came and said ” look I don’t like giving presents before the baby is born” which is fine by me because some people think it’s bad luck. But she still brought a little pressie for me and wine. So she made a real show of my friends.

So although I did have a good time and stuff  I can’t help but feel mad and disappointed. So I ask you this ” what would you do if you were me?” At the minute I have not said anything to my friends and don’t really intend to before the wedding.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

So I haven’t put a post up lately as I’ve basically been feeling really down the last 2 days. Woke up after having a bad night terror and ever since then I haven’t been able to shake off the feeling of sadness and loneliness. So basically spent the last 2 days feeling sorry for myself. But I am feeling better today and so back to the old grind stone. Saw the doctor and everything is going well.Got the 4D scan tomorrow and looking forward to it. Also getting my wedding dress so very excited :D Picking the final design of the cake on Saturday and turning the office into a nursery so I am very busy.

Now from what my lovely man has been telling me there is a lot of people looking for an early election. The next election is not due till 2012 but a lot of the ministers looking to get Brian Cowans lot out and try something new. In a way I do agree with them. Brian Cowan made a big mistake especially with the budget. But I don’t know if a complete overhaul of the government at this fragile time is a good idea. But who knows if it will even happen.

Anyway I’m a busy lady so that’s all for today.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

Calling all fish experts! January 11, 2009

SOS!! If there are any fish experts out there I would really appriciate some help here. I had a fish for 2 years in my parents in house. Brought to my new apartment in a different county. He was grand for 3 months. Then when I went to change his water he died. I put it down to old age/cold since it can get quite cold at night. So went to pet store got 2 very pretty goldfish. Cleaned out the tank, did the adjustment thing and put them in their new home. By that night they were dead. So was quite annoyed. Went back to pet store explained the situation and they commented on the fact that we are in a high lime and nitrate area. Which actually poisons the fish. So we were advised to buy some stuff that would neutralise the water. So brought and on the guarentee that this would make the water safe we got 7 more fish. Went home cleaned the tank again. Treated the water with the conditioner and then let fish adjust etc. By that night all the fish were lying on their sides not oving but still breathing. So rushed out to get some still water. Got home emptyed tank cleaned tank filled it with the still water and treatment. Placed fish back in tank after adjustment. No improvement. 2 baby gold fish died and the rest weren’t doing great. Took the rest out the tank put in an old round sweets container with still water and treatment. Did some rresearch and discovered that by adding a tiny tiny amount of salt I mean a punch to the water it could help with nitrate poisoning. So added it and prayed. Unfortunatly a beautiful white spotted gold fish and a tiny white shimmery one died. But another tiny white shimmery survived along with those tiny tiny ones that have that streak through them. So decided the tank we had was to big for such tiny fish and cleaned a vase and put the one that survived the night in there. At this point the tiny ones had to be put in our health tank since they had been doing the same as the other fish. After an hour or two Lazerus(the sick but recovered one) started swimiming on his side and then lying on the bottom again. All the fish are now in the health bowl and all are swimming upright and have eaten. I really want to put them in their new tank but I am afraid in case they get sick.I also noticed that the decorations now have got this white encrusted stuff on them and then a wooden decoration has some green on that that wasn’t on it before.

Anyone have any tips? I know some people collet rain water and use still water but we have a 12ltr tank so we would need to collect a lot of water. I would really appriciate any tips cause I hate seeing them suffer and die.

Thanks guys xxx

Rant and Rave January 8, 2009

rantsmall21803f3dt51

To be honest I don’t know what to rant about today there’s just so much, the weather, our politicians, the Gaza violence, the looming risk of unemployment in the country, doesn’t it just sound depressing. 9 out of 10 people fear for their jobs. I feel lucky cause I know Nigel is the 1 in 10 who’s job is secure. But our Government is really pissing me off. When I heard they were moving the budget up I thought great, they are going to nip this in the bud and get the country on track. Ha was I wrong. They are attacking children and the elderly and raising taxes. Now England had the right idea. They reduced their taxes, made it easier for the people. Why the hell didn’t the Irish government take a leaf out of their book? Now all the Irish are going over the border cause goods are cheaper but in turn we are pumping money into their economy while ours is dwindling. I’m not saying don’t go up over the border, I’m saying tell the idiots in charge that we need some relief.

Another thing that is bugging me lately is thee fact that we are still supporting anyone who decides to come here. Now before anyone jumps to conclusions I am not one of those people who think foreigners shouldn’t be allowed into the country. I welcome them but it’s the ones who come here, start claiming dole and suck the money out of our economy I hate. I’m all for people coming here and starting a new life and contributing to our economy and all that, that’s great let them earn the social benefits like I had to. Also Irish people out there who are on the dole and never worked a day in your life, shame on you. I’m one of those people who like you know you have worked, you have paid taxes, now you are having a hard time, ok here’s a hand to help you get back on your feet.but why should the rest of us pay other peoples way. There is a group of people who live underneath us. Gettting all the benefits they can off the government and they have the biggest tv I have ever seen. It’s scandalous! Now for you people who think I’m a hypocrite as I’m on job seekers. I was working from 16 and earned the credits. So you can’t say I’m a hypocrite.

Well I’m fed up of giving out now and I’m going to eat now. So if you feel the same about this let me know and I shall post the best arguments. Or if you feel I am wrong tell me and I’ll start a debate going.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

It’s offical my appliances like Nigel better then me. Today as I was watching Deadliest Catch on Discovery “bang” Chorus broke down. So to save myself an hour of listening to bad music on their crap customer service line I did what I knew they would tell me to do. I plugged out the power wire, turned it upside down, took out the card, put the card back in and connected it back to the power. At this point the lovely Chorus blue page came up and then “bang” another page about network configuration and network numbers and I had absolutly  no idea what to do. So I rang Nigel and he turned me to turn it off again. Took the little wire out and then tryed to connect it again. It was around about now that sparks began to emerge from the Chorus box and I was told not to touch it ever again and wait till he got home. He got home turned it on and off and hey presto it worked. GRRRR!!

Then my Internet has been funny lately so I deleted some program files and did a disk clean up and some defragmentation to help it along. Spent about 2 hours doing all that and went to speedtest.net <—– brilliant sight btw, and discovered that my ping was 957kb/s  and my download speed was about 20kb/s higher then that.AHHH!! we are paying for 7000kb/s and we are getting under a 1000kb/s. So I asked Nigel to restart the router and give it some tlc. And still it torments me!!

THEN, my brawn new blender seems to have trouble blending. I was making fruit smoothies and it took me about 10 minutes to blend some fruit.GRRR!

On the plus side Xmas in finally over. All the decorations are done and put away. Although I still have cards and a present that some lazy people have yet to pick up, but yup it’s over for another year WOOHOO!

Now I am a bit ignorant when it comes to politics and what not so can someone explain what the hell happened in Gaza? What are they fighting about? I think it does have something to do with religion but tbh I’m not sure. But it is very sad. Just as troops in Iraq are told they can go home a whole new war starts. It’s time like this you reconsider dictatorship. Look at China….they are doing great, set to become the next super power and here we all are fighting.

Anyway that’s enough from me now I have cleansed my soul on the Internet(is it just me or does that sound kinda dirty?)

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

What were they thinking? January 4, 2009

what_the_hell1

I am not amused!!! First of all what were the casting team of Dr Who thinking when they cast the new Dr. Who?? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7808697.stm <— check out the BBC site who got an interview with 26 year old Matt Smith. He is the youngest actor to play Dr Who which I have no problem with but OMG you have to check out the interview you will see what I mean. He looks like a guy out of rehab. He just creeps me out. I can see there being an uproar about it. Although I have got a theorey. Maybe this is all a clever plan. Make us all angry and get lots of publicity and notice. Then “fire him” due to fan unhappiness and then unveil a much more suitable candiate. Please god let me right. I am normally right so please don’t make this the exception. I was talking to a very dear friend of mine who happens to be a massive Dr Who fan. While discussing our hatrid for the man suggested an unlikely yet suitable candiate. Richard E Grant.

richard-e-grant1

Now I would have never thought of him myself but now I think about it I think he would make a fabulous doctor. He has years of experience and I think he would really make a good edition. So if anyone happens to know Russel Davies or can at least get within slapping distance. Give him one from me and yell Richard E Grant rocks.

Now to another screen related annoyance only it’s the big one I am talking about. Twilight! The most hyped up movie I think since Harry Potter. Now I have never read that particular collection of books but another friend of mine has the entire collection and can practically recite it at this point. So you can imagine her   the movie was announced. I went to see it last night for the first time last night (it was her third). Quite excited to see it to be honest after all the hype. Unfortunately I left thinking what was all the fuss about. Yes it had it’s moments but it didn’t leave a huge effect on me. It had some really good effects at one point. For example when they were ascending up a very large tree with great speed. It was incredible done. But then they had some really sloppy moments too. They had some really bad CGI rain, I mean really bad. Then to add insult to injury the truck driving in the really bad CGI rain “forgot” it’s windscreen wipers. So not overly impress with the editing. As for the actors eh they were ok. Won’t win an oscar. Robert Pattinson was very good in Harry Potter so I was looking forward to seeing him play as a main character. But I wasn’t overly impressed and the make up artists made him look terrible. I have seen bloopers were he looks quite handsome and not half bad looking. But after all the effects they do on him after he looks horrible. He literally looks like skin and bone, on the face anyway. I understand they were going for the whole death look but he does him no favours. I wasn’t particularly keen on Kristan Stewart who plays Bella. She was a bit I don’t know…bland. The whole movie as bland really. In fact there is a quote from the movie I think would work here “it’s like a human eating tofu all their life, sure it keeps you strong. But you are never satisfied.”

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

Attack of the family!!! December 31, 2008

OMG this is wrecking my head. According to my mother and grandmother I am suppose to put up my grandad and his wife as well as my mum-in-law, dad-in-law and my 2 new sisters the week of my wedding. WTF!! My apartment is not big in the first place and I will be damned if I am entertaining that many people days before my wedding and when I’m 7 months pregnant. Been talking to my man and he agrees with me thank god cause I was starting to think that I was the unreasonable one. But I have out my foot down and that’s that!

Anyway finally booted out the brother and have an hour or two of some peace and watching Sister Act 2. Love that movie!! Thankfully I have no news……I am firm believer in no news is good news. Well the mother in law is coming home today from the funeral in England. A return trip we paid for I may add. Then my oldest sister in law is coming on Saturday and we are paying for her hair to be done as well. I’m not a scrooge with money but we have a lot to be paying for what with the wedding and a baby on the way and what not. Not to mention getting one huge bill 4 month electricity bill. After all who isn’t skint after xmas so no that ticket is not a present and I am definitely expecting it back. After all they haven’t given anything to us, nothing.Which is fine we don’t need anything but my parents have been so generous. They are paying for the reception, my dress and a surprise honeymoon. Yes I’ll admit my family are better off then his so I don’t expect the same things but god….lets just say I’m not impressed at all and neither is my family.

But onto world news anyway. I mentioned yesterday about the Kilkenny fire that killed a mother and her 2 daughters. Although an investigation is still underway into the circumstances surrounding the fire, a private prayer service is taking place in honour of the family. The family will be buried together tomorrow. This is one of those stories that you can’t help but feel for the family when you read. A family member was describing how she was wrapping presents on Xmas Eve and how it’s difficult to think that the children never lived to open them. My condolences are with the Whelan family and friends of the family at this time.

I also mentioned a woman being held in custody over the stabbing of a man in Kilkenny yesterday. Well the only update on that story is that the 18 year old has been taken to court.

Anyway that’s all for me. Happy New Year!!

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

Finally I’m alone. Don’t get me wrong I love my  man and I love my bro but after a week of being out numbered it’s nice to finally be alone. Nigel went back to work yesterday. Richard was still here though and then I got a call from a friend who asked if I was about. Now this particular friend works in a shop locally but she lives in the middle of nowhere and depends on a bus. Because she lives in the middle of nowhere therearen’t many buses and she often has hours to kill.So she tends to go to a friends and stay there. Now this doesn’t sound so bad but the fact is she gets her hours a week in advance so she has a week to plan who she will visit and give them notice, you know courtesy. But no 5 mins before she got here she was ringing me from the taxi she was in saying she was heading in my direction. I hate that. She did it over xmas was looking to stay overnight after a late shift and I felt bad because I wasn’t there to put her up as I was at my parents. Although she had a week to ask me I was the one feeling bad. So no more of that crap for me.

Apart from that I had a goo xmas. Got a George Foreman, a blender, some nice perfume, a nail set, a voucher and a few little things. Best day was St Stevens Day. My Gran throws a party every year and everybody comes and it’s just a lot of fun and no matter how big everyone gets it’s something that I hope will never change.

So in Ireland Kilkenny is all over the news today. An 18 year old woman is being held in relation to the stabbing of a 22 year old man who’s body was found at 4 am this morning.Forensic teams and the state patholgist Marie Cassidy has been called.

Another story that broke my heart on Stevens Day was about Kilkenny fire. A mother and her 2 daughters perished in the fire Xmas eve. Although they have yet to determine the cause of the fire Forensic teams are telling the police to keep an open mind as to the cause. My heart goes out to the family and friends who are suffering.

Thats all for now have to go visit my gran.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

oh and did anyone get anything weird and wacky for xmas??

So I’ve visited all the family, handed out all the gifts, stuffed the chicken (hate Turkey) and my ham is soaking. We have watched a marathon of scary movies and now my bro who is staying with us is playing Deep Space. Apparently it’s one of the scariest games out there at the mo and from watching him I believe him. I’ll be going to bed soon hoping that Santa will break into my apartment especially if he looks like my pic ;) But am I really feeling all that merry? I’m not sick anymore and I got everything I wanted ie a George Foreman and a blender. Plus some really nice gifts from my friends but all in all I’m not all that bothered. What I am looking forward to is St Stevens Day or Boxing Day to some people. All my family go to my grans house and just be merry. There’s poker and drink and food and just a lot of family fun stuff.

So I wish all my readers a very merry xmas and I hope everyone has remembered the most important thing about tomorrow……..The Dr.Who xmas special at 6pm on BBC1.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings and I hope you keep enjoying them into the new year.

My first blog. November 24, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — cassielou @ 10:24 pm

Well as you guessed this is my first blog and I’m just going to tell what I hope to achieve with it. I’m basically going to give my opinion on what’s happening in my world and of course the world you call “reality”. If you agree with let me know so I can feed my ego, but if you have your own opinion or disagree with me feel free to knock me down a peg or two but no more then three.

So there you go.

Cause I had a bad day :( November 26, 2008

sadface1

Well as you can guess I had a bad day in fact it was terrible. I believed I mentioned that I was waiting for a plumber well guess what I’m still waiting 24hrs later. Damn plumbers they are a law onto themselves sometimes. Doesn’t matter that the water in my washing machine is starting to stink the place out. Wait till he gets here I’ll give him a piece of my mind.

I also think I mentioned the fab gorgeous dress I got back yesterday. Well my lovely fiance broke the god damn zip so now I have to go get that fixed grrr. Although I shouldn’t blame him. There was always a problem with that zip. It would always get suck in this one place whether it was on me or not. I tried all the tricks pencil, crayon, candle wax, sunflower oil. But alas it did not work. Then on one of our attempts to fix it he pulled the backing of the zip through the zip lining and it got stuck in one place. I was lucky I could get it off. So got to get the zip taken off and replaced as I haven’t actually worn it to the thing I wanted to and it was a pretty expensive dress.

So I just felt down for the rest of the evening. My man offered to make me some home made chips which he had never done before may I add. Thought it would be nice. Next thing I know he’s handing me a heart attack on a plate. He drowned them in oil while they were in the oven. I don’t mind a sprinkling to make them crispy but he actually drowned them. So needless to say he ate most of them well all of them.

Now for the news which on one hand should really make me feel better considering how horrible he world is. Firstly my thoughts today are with Caroline Cox and her 4 kids who were in a horrible car accident near my home. Unfortunately the mother Caroline Cox tragically died in the accident leaving 4 kids from the ages 15 months to 15 years old. They were all sent to Mullingar General Hospital were the kids are believed to be in stable condition. RIP Caroline Cox.

There are a lot of bad things going on in Dublin today. A 27 year old man was found shot dead last night in Blakestown in Dublin. The Investigation is under way in Ashcroft Grove.

Then of course there was a fire to top it all off. 4 terrace houses were severely damaged in Tallaght although thankfully no one was injured in the blaze. It is believed to have started at 9:50 am. This is probably what saved a lot of people. Most would have been at school or work. Thank god for little miracles, if it had been in the night I might be writing something completely different.

Now for some news from around the globe. Thai protesters have occupied a control tower at Bangkok’s Main International Airport. All flights have been cancelled and all 3000 stranded passengers have been evacuated from the airport. There have been several small blasts from the airport. And warnings have been issued to anyone travelling to the area.

So I guess I shouldn’t complain when all of this is going on in the world. Then again if you don’t complain nothing gets done. It’s an evil cycle. So my question to you is-do you think it’s right to complain when there are horrible things happening in the world and why and do you do it anyway?

That’s all from me for now. Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

plumber

So nearly 48hrs after I reported an issue with my washing machine I am still getting the same lines. He is out on another call – he is definitely on his way. Finally managed to get a phone call number for the guy and spoke to him personally. Let’s just he is definitely on his way now ;)

On the brighter side of life. My lovely man has got a raise and I am so proud. He’s only working in the place 3 months so go my man!!!!! Secondly he also got paid so yay for that. And on that happy note I have decided to go to Dublin tomorrow and return my broken dress and get a better one with his wages. So yes I am much happier now and so don’t worry my world is not ending. CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES COME ON!!

In European news, It’s been announced that the EU is going to give a package worth 1.5% of the GDP (gross domestic product) to EU states although it is thought that Ireland is not going to get involved. It is hoped this will snap the countries out of recession. On one hand it is a good thing Ireland is not getting involved because I know that in the long run you would be expected to pay it back in one shape or form. But on the other hand would it be worth it if the taxes went down and the economy stabilised?

So that is another question I put to you – should your country be involved in this scheme and why?

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

broken20bones20111

OMG never ever again am I going up to Dublin before xmas again. God I love the shopping but I am sick of having to bite, kick, pull, and trample people just to move 2 inch’s. I am knackered my back is killing me I’m so tired. The man whom I love (apparently) couldn’t find his keys this morning so of course I got up to find them and have been awake ever since. And to top it off I’ve got a dose as well. Oh and you know the way you love your friends well is it ok to hate them at the same time? Spent all day with my 2 best friends yesterday then at 11pm my friend rang me and told me that she was coming over to watch a programme on my tv and then came over and ate my food. Grrrr!!!! So lets just say she will not be coming over for the late late toy show tonight. Damn friends!!! Maybe I can put an ad out for a new one or two……. any ideas anyone?

But I’m sick about talking about me. A teenage boy was killed near Enniskillen yesterday evening when 3 pedestrians were struck by a car. Another teen girl is critically injured while I believe the other is unharmed. My thoughts are with all the families. In another tragic accident an airbus crashed on the coast of France during a training flight. 2 have died and 5 are still missing. Rescue services are scouring the area in search of the missing people.

So it seems that the world is getting some bad karma so to anyone reading this please tell me anything good that has happened to you lately and I’ll post the story and announce a winner to the person who cheers me up the most.

Thanks for listening to my (depressing) ramblings.

FIRE IN MAYNOOTH!!! November 29, 2008

Filed under: My World, World News — cassielou @ 3:34 pm
Tags: , , , , , ,

Bit of a change today. I am going to combine a news story into my world. Yesterday NUI Maynooth had a huge fire and I mean huge. There was bellows of black smoke and an explosion and to be honest it was pretty awesome. It was in he canteen on our open day which is typical because last year our open day was cancelled due to a mumps outbreak. It was the highlight of the year so far. Was raging I missed it but I seen a lot of pics and a video on YouTube so look it up if you are interested.

In my world today I have relatives for the next 48hrs. My mother-in-law is visiting today so all on our best behaviour today then I have my Grandfather staying here for the 48hrs since no one else will put him up tut tut. Now I am not one to talk about the weather in my blogs but OMG it is freezing out. I nearly killed myself going to the train station it was so icy. I feel bad for the washing I put out. Mad maybe but it is technically dry.

In a unbelievable tragic accident a Wal-Mart employee was killed today by a surge of shoppers when they broke down the doors to get into the store. Of course Black Friday is the busiest day of the year for shopping but the fact that a man was killed should be an eye opener for people. It’s gotten out of control. People are forgetting that Christmas is only a day or 2 a year and it gets more outrageous every year. Seriously people look around and think why am I stressing myself out and fighting off barrels of people to get a particular toy? Is it really worth killing someone and ruining an entire families xmas and lives just so your kid can have that particular toy? If your answer is yes you are clearly a heartless cruel person.

So my question to you- do you think the world would be better off with out xmas? Give a reason for your answer.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

The weather outside is frightful December 1, 2008

baby it's cold outside

Unfortunately the weather is still terrible. To top it off, me in my stupidity decided to put the washing out to air on the balcony and you guessed it, it was frozen solid by the time it was brought in. Of course I decided to leave it ouside after that cause it would only thaw and get water everywhere. Then my grandad who I was putting up for the weekend came home somewhat drunk. Wanted a cigarette so he decided to go out on the balcony and then he fell on top of the clothes horse and broke it. Went and got us another one but it’s a lot smaller and to be honest could only hold socks and underwear. So I will have to find another one now. So my frozen clothes are now thawing in the bath and I have no where to put them. GRRRRRRR!!

I’m back to wearing my glasses as lately I’ve noticed the tv getting blurrier and blurrier and my eyes are getting irritated and sore so I gave in. They’re a little loose around my head but I’ll get it fixed later. It’s a bit annoying but if it helps it helps. In a pretty good mood apart form that. Was awake early again but that was my own fault, was out of the bed for maybe 2 mins and couldn’t settle again after that so I decided to join Nigel in the kitchen. Ended up making lunch for him. You’d swear he nearly planned it hmmm???

Feeling very merry all of a sudden. May have something to do with the xmas shopping I did yesterday. Oh and of course the wrapping I did. Got some fab gold and red wrapping paper (matches my decorations) and red ribbon and of course those bows made of the ribbon stuff. Now it’s been a while since I was wrapping presents but they do look amazing if I say so myself. So I’m very proud and I’ll admit I am starting to feel a bit of xmas spirit…….should wear off soon.

But here’s some news I’m sure you are more interested in. Well the biggest headline today is the possible merger of Ryanair and Aer Lingus. Ryanair has offered €748m in a takeover offer. An earlier proposal was blocked by the EU. Ryanair already owns 30% of the airline. Aer Lingus have said they will make a comment in due course. So watch this space.

Over the water, Obama is expected to nominate Hilary Clinton as Secretary of State later on today. He is also expected to ask George W Bush’s Secretary of Defence, Robert Gates, to stay on in the pentagon.

So my question to you is- are you looking forward to xmas and do you have any traditions?

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

Feeling refreshed :D December 2, 2008

wakeup1

Woke up feeling good this morning. Maybe that’s cause of last night but…..my fella would kill me if I went into any details on that but lets just say you sleep better when you are worn out ;) But I can tell you I did fall asleep in the arms of the man I love and to be honest it’s the most amazing feeling ever. Like seriously wouldn’t trade it for the world. But I’ll stop going on about the sappy stuff before I make you puke.

Going to the doctor tomorrow for my 5 month check up. Also hoping to book a 3D/4D scan and a gender determination test. Going to cost the better part of €400 but my parents have offered to cover it as a xmas and birthday present to Nigel and I so really happy about that. So I will tell you all how I get on although I’m sure it will be fine. But you never know.

So real other news from my world. Feeling kinda lonely. Haven’t seen my friends in ages, they have been doing a panto and it starts next week so they are rehearsing all the time. I would have been doing it to but of course in my “condition” I can’t. Involves to much jumping and stuff. If I’m honest wasn’t sure I wanted to it anyway. All the rehearsals are in the evening and that’s the only time I get with Nigel and it wouldn’t be fair on him. But I do feel a little left out. Do that is my tale of woe for the day.

So a big big story today is the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grants Poolbeg incinerator licence. The plant will burn 600,000 tonnes of household waste a year – one of the largest capacities in Europe. There was 216 conditions that were attached with the licence.

Another big story today is the announcement of 300 job loses by 2 separate firms. FBD will close 13 of it’s offices with 150 job loses. It is hoping staff will choose voluntary redundancies. Shannon based company Element Six Ltd also informed it’s staff that it intends to reduce it’s workforce by 150 people by the end of the year.

So my question to you is – what do you think of the EPA granting the Poolbeg incinerator licence and will these job loses affect you?

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

Freak of Nature. December 3, 2008

confused1

Had an interesting morning. Went and saw the doctor and everything is ok. Blood pressure is ok and all that. Although the bloods and urine results never turned up at his office so don’t know what happened there. But one of the funny things is that really confused him was the fact that I lost weight. Not a dramtic amount or anything but still it is a bit odd. I had to laugh because I couldn’t lose weight when I wanted to but now when I should be putting on weight I’m losing it. So if anyone can give me any explanation for this it would much appreciated. I’m not eating any less so I can’t explain it. In other news my doctor did not know any clinics for 3D/4D scans so it looks like it us up to me as usual. Oh well I should be used to it.

Had another good night last night ;) not sure what is up with my fella but whatever he is taking I hope he doesn’t run out.  He just seems so happy and that makes me happy in more ways then one ;)

In tv land wasn’t Desperate Housewives last night amazing. I can’t wait for next weeks episode. I really did think Gabby was going to leave that old one there to die. I would have certainly considered it, after all she’s nothing but trouble and Gabby would have still got money in the will. But then again I would hope if I was in that situation I would do the same thing. Oh and the doc being killed OMG. Looking forward to Fringe tonight. It’s a lot better then Lost. I was really into that but soon lost interest but I’m into this so if you haven’t seen it. Try and watch it from the first episode cause it would be a bit confusing otherwise. Another weekly event is Bones and Coldcase on Thursday. I LOVE BONES!

But that’s enough about tv. Now the real news. Unemployment is the highest it has been since November 1996. Trust me I know. I’ve have had to claim job seekers allowance and today was the day I had to sign. Couldn’t believe how long the queue was. Glad I am not a man I’ll tell you that much. At least the women’s queue was shorter and I didn’t have to wait in the cold. Plus Lenihan has said that the standard of living is going to reduce. Which sucks frankly.

So that is all that interested me today, plus I really want a nap. I’ve already asked a question so I won’t ask another one.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

So first of all what happened to wordpress? I’m gone for a day and all of a sudden everythings changed. Had a bit of difficulity trying to put up a pic so I shall be pictureless today :( So I guess I should apoligise for not putting up a post yesterday but to be honest it probably would have bored you to death as nothing really happened. But I do have some good news. Me and the man have decided to get married. We have been engaged for a while and we were going to have a big wedding in 4 years but now I’m pregnant I have decided that I would like to be married when he baby is born. I know it’s a bit old fashioned but what can I say that’s just the way I am. So that’s the good news.

The bad news is I’m torn. I want to be married to him as quickly as possible. But part of me still wants the big 150 person wedding in a big white marquee at Belvedere House overlooking the lake. It’s what all little girls want right. To marry the perfect man in the perfect location in the perfect dress with everyone thinking isn’t it just perfect. Yes to all you want a be quacks out there I am a perfectionist. I am the person who stresses about every little detail and yes I believe that appearences have a part in life. They are not everything not even close but when it comes to me I want people to look and say “how does she do it?” My nickname in school was Superwoman because I did so much and I intend to keep that title. So of course I want the perfect wedding. I want everyone to remember and I want to set the standerd. He says that we can still have a good time with a smaller wedding in a low key location like a room in a hotel somewhere and I’m sure we could have a good time and everyone would enjoy themselves. But as bad as it sounds that’s not what I’m concerned with. I want the fireworks, the big ceremony, the big guest list. I guess what I’m saying is I want more. But I have put a lot of thought into it and I have resigned myself to the fact that the fairytale wedding is just that a fairytale. There is no way we could ever afford what I want even if we waited 4 years so such is life I guess. Maybe I could set up a charity, “Give Cassie a Big Wedding Foundation”. Yeah right.

Anyway I’m to wrapped up in my own little world to bother reporting on the news today. So sorry to disappoint.

Anyway thanks for listening to my ramblings.

So I have got over my little crisis and I have come back down to reality with a bang. But it will still be a great day. We have made up a guest list decided who is coming to the ceremony, found a venue, and made a to do list. We are going to the register tomorrow so I will be able to get a definite date and then I can start handing out invitations and get a definite number of people so I can book the venue. Wednesday me and my grandmother are going to a baker and hopefully be able to get a cake. Flowers are being done by an aunt, my parents have offered to buy the dress so should have a lot of it sorted soon thank god.

In Mullingar Joe Dolans statue has been unveiled after the official Joe Dolan weekend. The main man Brian Cowen even unveiled the statue. But what really appealed me was the scam that surrounded the whole thing. The tree that goes up every year was suddenly a remembrance tree where you could pay to have a note written by you put on it. There was  a Joe Dolan tour of Mullingar which is basically a tour of Mullingar. Even the taxi’s were doing it. Mike Dolan has a taxi service known as Mike’s Taxi’s but he changed to Dolan’s at the weekend. I think it is great that 5000 people came and honoured him but it really shows you just how much the town will do for money.

Big big news is the cancer pork scare and now the papers are reporting that cows are also being checked. I did always prefer chickens. Went into Tesco’s just to get a few bits for some sandwiches maybe some chicken or something. Got to the aisle and I all I could see was white. There was nothing not even chicken. Well there was stuff like salami and pepperoni but that was about it. Managed to find some corned beef though so that shall have to do him. Here’s a little something I noticed. When I heard I was watching the BBC and they said that there was nothing to worry about as only 8% of pork was imported from Ireland and that it was mostly the Republics problem. Turned over to RTE and here they were saying ” of course this is not just a problem here we go to our European correspondant”. So don’t watch  2 different news channels it’s very very confusing. Another thing if it isn’t that dangerous in small quantities well then why such a big fuss. I understand that it’s cancerous and a danger to your health but like they were saying if you only have the likes of sausages and rashers once or twice a week well then you should be fine. I wish people would stop thinking of their xmas ham and start thinking about the pork industry. With our econamy as bad as it is this is spelling bad news especially if it is found in beef as well. Here’s hoping that it will all pass quickly without to much damage done.

So as I finish up I would like to apologize for the late entry and warn you that tomorrow will be another late one. Also thanks to Andre Ventor for his very informative comment on the new Dublin waste disposal unit. I will post it publicly on my blog.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

Andre Ventor’s Comment on the Poolbeg Incineration December 8, 2008

Filed under: World News — cassielou @ 4:36 pm
Tags: ,

Seems strange when the very notion that the background to the programme for the Dublin/Poolbeg incineration project has been faulted all the way and that the Dublin Councils their engineers and consulting advisors have misunderstood that it is environmentally unacceptable and equally totally unaffordable.

The notion that Dublin which currently produces twice the quantity of waste per capita compared to say London or New York will remain doing this is a fallacy beyond comprehension. When the reality is understood and the implications of costs that are borne by the tax payer [you and me] the public will adjust its habits: I have done so already and now in my household [2 adults and 3 children, ages 5, 14 and 17] we are down to one black bag of waste a week and a total weight of 800kg per year, this is well below the headline figures posted in the Waste Management Report!

More importantly though is the fact that the project cannot be afforded by the Tax Payers. Just remind yourselves the following facts that have been well published. This programme has a Budget cost of €250+million and that was in 2005 before newer legislation was added – that will add a further €150million to it. Thus it means that for each Dublin area resident we will be paying €500 just to have it built. Then the running costs and financing and subsidies will add a further €160 a year to this. That means from 2014 onwards each resident will be paying for this project at the rate of €250 per year Man Woman Child and Pensioner! That means €1500 per tax payer each year for the next 40 years! Affordable phooey!

But we do have an opportunity to address this moving to a newer technology such as suggested by Daniel Hayes at the University of Limerick and the biorefinery option also suggested by Dominic Hogg at Eunomia with Ethanol. Even Senator O’Toole seems to have a better grasp at this than most. That as stated elsewhere neednot cost the the payer anything. So Government and the Green Party must change policy or reap the benefits.

Thanks again to Andre. I know my blog is a lot of my own ramblings and complaints but I do enjoy a serious comment or two like this one. So if you have something similar you would like to see posted on Opinion World, comment me and I will review for language and offences etc and if I like it I’ll post it. Easy.

Very busy day so just going to fill you in on the most important details. SET A DATE FOR THE WEDDING!!!!! It’s the 12th of March 2009 it’s a Thursday. Couldn’t get the Saturday as they don’t hold weddings on Saturdays. Himself wouldn’t marry me on Friday the 13th so we got the 12th. Oh and I forgot to mention that my family are being very nonsupporting. Of course the man took the day off work and we visited my gran instead. Needless to say I left there practically in tears because of comments made. Shall not be going down there anytime soon.

Anyway got some decorations today and have put up a few bits including the tree so it is starting to feel very merry in my apartment.

Well that is all I shall say like it says this is just a quickie ;) Got another good comment on the Poolbeg Incineration so I shall be posting that too. Please keep comments like these coming gang they are an amazing feature of my blog that I would like to make a regular thing. If enough people get involved we could run a few friendly competitions. Comment of the day and then out of those 7 I will chose the best and have comment of the week. So make sure to get your friends involved if you want to win.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

Dublin City Council has a secret contract with Covanta which will apparently supply guaranteed cash-flow to Covanta for 25 years. Covanta has a record of breaking US laws relating to dioxins, and six thousand other violations, allegedly.

In addition to the unknown liability from the secret contract, taxpayers can expect to pay an additional €25 million to €75 million in CO2 penalties, each year.

The additional financial liability for Tobacco and Asbestos style lawsuits caused by deadly particle pollution is also unknown. Estimates by British Society for Ecological Medicine using World Health Organisation Air Quality Guidelines indicate the Dublin Bay Incinerator at Poolbeg would cost at least 100,000 man-years of life over 15 years. Each life is valued at about $8 million by the US government’s EPA, so this liability could exceed $53 Billion per year.

Thanks for your comment and please read below to find out my future plans for these replys.

So today was the day I was suppose to book my cake and yet again I am let down. Took my Gran to the bakery and enquired about a one tier heart shaped wedding cake. With all the icing and trimmings and everything included. It came to €170. Now in my head I  thought hmm ok not great but ok. My gran said we would think about it. As we left she said that it was to expensive and she wasn’t paying it out of principal. So I thought fine I’ll go halfies with ya. But no wasn’t good enough. So now she is saying she will go to my aunt and get her to do it and give her money for her trouble. Now I have nothing against my aunt she is a brilliant cook but is it really a good idea to put that kind of responsibility in the hands of a family member? After all what if I don’t like it? It’s not as if I can go back and say it sucked give me my money back. So I’m in two minds about it. Tell me what you think.

So apart from that I’ve no real other news in my world. I noticed a jump in my views yesterday so hello to all the new readers. Leave me a comment and let me know who you are. Oh I will have a late Saturday entry as I will be in Longford visiting family so I’ll say sorry in advance. So now my usual what’s pissing me off in the news segment. So guess what it turns out that the pork that could cause cancer is in fact safe, unless you eat a heart attack amount of worth of the contaminated pork in a day. So I’ll be having my ham for xmas dinner. But to be honest 10% of the entire countries pork was contaminated so the likely hood of someone eating enough of it to actually be sick is highly unlikely. But of course now the farmers are all looking for compensation from the EU and they should be compensated for their loses. But correct me if I’m wrong I believe that the EU has said they will not reimburse them. If it was me I would be looking for the money from the idiots who contaminated the feed in the first place. So lets name and shame and make them pay. In a related story I mentioned that beef was also being tested for the dioxins. Turns out that beef was also contaminated. Now don’t panic they have decided not to recall the beef. Only 0.2% of the beef was found to have it and it was at no where near the levels the pork was at. But what really annoys me is that 1,400 people lost their jobs while this whole ordeal was going on.

So here’s a question – who should be held responsible for the contamination. Leave me a good comment and I’ll post it on the site.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

So as usually my family have left me down but as usually I’m surprised. I thought my mum would be the one to cause trouble but it’s actually my grandad parents. As I have said before my Grandad spoke his mind his other day and upset us both. Yesterday I told you how my Grandmother was suppose to pay for the cake but insisted on asking my aunt to make it. So waited to hear news last night and I heard nothing so I knew it didn’t go well. Got a text this morning saying that I should my future mother-in-law to make the cake as she will know how to make it the way Nigel like it. But I don’t want a family member to make it as I said before so we are going to pay for the cake ourselves. We can afford it now my mum and dad are paying the reception so I’ll get the cake of my dreams well maybe not my dreams, dreams are expensive but it will still be lovely.

I have remembered one of the reasons why I disliked xmas. All the tv programs that you usually watch stop, no warning no nothing just stop. I hate that. Now before anyone says “What you hate xmas?”. No I don’t hate xmas, I just hate certain things that comes with the season. For example xmas in September that bugs, the way prices go up before xmas and just all the crap that comes with it. It’s only a good holiday if you have money which if you ask me is unfair. So don’t hate me hate the corporate bosses trying to squeeze money out of everything.

Here’s a question for you- did you ever feel like your friends are jealous of you? I’m not trying to blow my own horn but I have been getting that impression lately. I have the most amazing fiance whom I am marrying soon, I’ve got a baby on the way, we are well off financially, we have our own apartment and life is good for us. Most of my friends still live at home, are single, have very little money to speak of and are always complaining about how their life sucks. I’m one of those people who always lands on their feet thankfully. Whenever I ring they always say I’ll call you back and they never do. It  just seems like they are pushing me away. I will do some digging anyway and will fill you in.

Now for something much bigger then me (just) the world. So good news for pig farmers today. The Government has put a €180 million fund together for them including the pig farmers whose pigs were slaughtered.Another surprise is the the European Commission is expected to announce €15m in aid for the Irish Pork Industry. Now from what I understand and please correct me if I’m wrong cause I’m trying to get my head around it.The aid is coming in the form of something called APS – Aid for Private Storage. It allows producers to take products off the shelves if there is still consumer resistance. The farmers will be paid for the 6 months and at the end of the 6 months the products will go back on the market at an agreed price. I hope I explained it clearly enough. So a win for the pig farmers woohoo!!!

Once again we are expected to have another Lisbon Referendum by next October. Now I am anti-Lisbon and what confuses me is It thought this was suppose to be a democracy. We have already voted no twice so why do we have to have another referendum? Do they think that if they keep pushing it in our face that we will eventually give in? We may be one of the smaller countries in the EU but we do play a very important part in the EU which is why they need us to say yes. So I am not going to go through all of the pro’s and con’s as I have a ton of dishes to do but I beg of any voters out there to do the research. Look up what the pro’s and cons are for you and others and don’t be influenced by the media or government.

Had no comment of the day yesterday unfortunately so I am hoping to post 2 today so please please please send me your comments on anything I have written on or even something you feel strongly about that I haven’t mentioned.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

So sorry today people but I seriously don’t enough hours today. Just so you know I have got my cake sorted without my grandmother and I will try to fill you in over the weekend. Oh and we may be honey mooning in England but more on that on Sunday and Monday. Saturday looks doubtful as I am visiting family.

Here is the comment of the day and I hope you all can forgive me for such a quickie today.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

This is from Nigel Hanlon on the second Lisbon Treaty referendum….may I also mention this is the fella I am marrying but he was the only one to send me a comment today so fair is fair guys.

I really doubt they will get far with having a new vote. Ireland says no. End of discussion. The Anti-Lisbon side are now warning that they will take court action over the new vote as it is apparently unconstitutional. One things for sure and that’s money is definitely playing a large part in all this. You have America saying vote yes simply because they have companies here in Ireland who stand to gain if we say yes. We shall have to wait and see the outcome.Vote NO to Lisbon!

All work and no play………. December 14, 2008

cleaning20lady1God I am knackered. Been a busy girl this weekend but I have to make up for Fridays blog so I’ll start from there. I remember saying that I had to do some investigating into why my friends couldn’t talk to me. Turns out that they are “busy”. Sleeping during the day and then doing they’re stupid panto at night. But anyway was talking to my friend Gem and I told her about my cake dilemma. Then she decided to tell me about a friend she had who was a professional cake maker and chocolatier and gave me her number and told me to say she sent me. Needless to say she was a lot cheaper then the other crowd and she is chucking some extras in as well so I have an appointment to see her in the new year. So delighted about that.

Moving onto Saturday. Went to Longford to see my family. Got picked up at the train station and got treated to a Mc Donalds. Tried the new Chicken Fiesta. Had it plain of course, can’t stand mayo of any kind. IT’S EVIL!!! Have to say though apart from burning my tongue as I bite into it, it was quite nice. Then went up to the house and watched Jeff Dunham. He is so funny so you should really look him up on youtube. But like most people I wasn’t looking forward to going all the way down there but I’m glad I did as it was good fun in the end. Next thing on my mind is of course X-Factor. How the hell did Alexandra win? Don’t get me wrong she is no doubt a good singer but surely we are all fed up of the amazing girl singers.Come on we just had Leona Lewis. I was really hoping JLS would win it. Eoigne bless his heart was a good singer but he didn’t have a huge range and he couldn’t compete with the other two. But I was really hoping the 4 lads would win. Their version of the song was a lot better then hers if you ask me. But hopefully they will still do really well out of it.But to go back to the topic of friends. I have a friend who works in Tesco’s. She lives 20-30 miles out of town so it is difficult for her to get in and out. If she works late on a Saturday night she generally crashes here as no buses run that late. At first she would give us plenty of notice. But the last few times she has just been texting a few hours before out of the blue saying could she have a favour. She did it again and to be honest I just had to say no. It is getting to the point where she is using me and I won’t have it.

Today was a busy day. Woke up after 12, which in all honesty is not like us. We got up, checked our e-mails of course and then decided to go out for lunch as neither of us wanted to cook. Went to our local the Greville and Nigel had his usual turkey ham and the works while I had chips and beef sausages in gravy yum. Never had beef sausages before. Not bad, prefer pork but wouldn’t say no if it was all that was there. Went and did a little bit of shopping. Got lights for our tree and xmas cards. Also finally replaced the clothes airier that my drunk grandad broke. So finally getting some hard washing done. After that I went mad cleaning. I did the kitchen, living room and bedroom. Really needed doing as I have been neglecting it lately but I am on top of it now.

So that’s it, you are completely up to date on my world. Not a lot really interesting me in reality. Brian Cowan must me the most unpopular man in Ireland ever. He announced today that €10 billion euro would be taken from the National Pensions Reserve Plan in a recapitalisation programme for credit institutions ie banks. Not sure how this is going to go down but we will see over the coming days.

Well that’s all from me, I’m nackered and sore and I’m going to bed.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

Yawn…. December 15, 2008

big-yawn11

Wow maybe it’s just me but I am really starting to feel tired. But after all the cleaning I did last night and today I’m not surprised. I am knackered but anyway I remembered why I hate Christmas. I am broke. Between presents and train fares and new clothes for parties we are really scrimping these last 2 weeks. But we just have to get past this week and then Nigel should be getting paid, I am secretly hoping he gets a bonus, I know he isn’t working there that long but he did get a raise so why not a little bonus. But remember the amazing dress I got that I then had to return and then found another amazing dress, well it shall finally be taken out of it’s bag and put on show tomorrow night. Looking forward it especially the free meal part.

Nigel is late home tonight as he hung around with his friend and got a later train. So yeah he is cooking his own dinner tonight. His best friend will be his best man and his girlfriend might be our photographer so everything is looking good on the wedding front. But yeah I am stuffing down Jammy Dodgers instead of making dinner so yeah feeling like a bad mammy right now as I am sure I should eat something substantial but it’s to late now.

So to some more interesting news. The Minister European Affairs Dick Roche was held captive during a hotel raid earlier today in Co.Wicklow. A total of 9 people were held captive while 3 masked gun men robbed the hotel. Thankfully no one was hurt and no shots were fired.

In other news guess what bottled water has been withdrawn. The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has confirmed that batches of bottled water have been withdrawn from some supermarkets. Apparently there were low levels of coliform found in bottled water produced by Shannon Minerals stocked by Superquinn, Aldi and Lidl. Although only low levels were found and posed no harm to consumers they have withdrawn it as a precautionary measure.

So my question to you is- what the hell is going on with food producers?

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

Hello world miss me? Sorry I had to disappear off the face of the planet for a few days. So here it is. Wednesday Nigel was sick so I played nurse and managed to nurse the fella back to health. Thursday at about mid-day I got a call saying Nigels Gran died and his mum was distraught and very upset so of course we rushed to Maynooth to be by her side. Did I mention I hate her house full of smoke and dog hair ah I couldn’t sleep at all. Thought things were looking up and was looking forward to my friends panto tonight but of course I woke up and I have never felt so sick in my life.So been on the couch all day feeling sorry for myself and feeling like crap. So had to cancel on my friends and have been nursed upon by Nigel. So yeah not been the best 3 or 4 days. Plus some damn boats broke the internet again.

Some of the submarine wires were cut again and now it is taking forever to download stuff off the internet worse again they say it won’t be fixed till the 30th of December. So merry xmas everyone!!!

Oh and I must apologise for any spelling errors as everytime I try to check my spelling I get an error message. Typical.

So guess who was in a&e last night? Yup you are all psychic it was me. Evening was better then the day started feeling little better well not as bad as the day anyway. Was going to bed at 1 ish in the morning, went to the bathroom which is covered in mirrors and noticed a large odd rash on my arm. At first I thought it was just a pressure mark from where I was lying but it wasn’t fading and it was really odd. It was streaky and blotchey never saw anything like it.  So rang MIDOC talked to a very nice nurse who informed that it was probably a good idea to visit a doctor as soon as possible. Called a taxi went and saw the doctor who said and I quote “I don’t know what that is” so I was of course sent to A&E. Had bp,temp and bloods done (shudder) I hate needles but it wasn’ to bad the nurse was very good. Hung around on a bed for a bit. Talked to a very nice surprisingly perky doctor for 4 in the morning. Said he was doing some spot test thingy but won’t get the results of that till Monday. So basically I have paracetamol to fight a virus so that kinda sucks but oh while I’m a woman I’ll survive.

So Internet still sucks so not going to say much more as this will never get posted otherwise.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.
